I just passed my Georgia real estate exam, now what?

Once you pass the State exam, you can then apply for your license at the PSI testing center.

You will receive a Certificate of Accuracy Statement, which will be used when you apply for your license.

You must apply for your license within 12 months of taking the State exam. If you apply for your license within 3 months of taking the State exam, the license application fee is $170. If you apply between 3 and 12 months, the license application fee is $340. If you do not apply within 12 months, you must retake the State exam.

You will have the option to apply for an active or inactive license. If you have a sponsoring broker by the time you pass the State exam, you may apply for an active license.

If you do not have a sponsoring broker, you must apply for an inactive license.

If you are applying for an active license, you must submit the following 5 documents when applying for your license at the PSI testing center:

1) Valid ID along with the Certificate of Accuracy Statement.

2) A completed Sponsoring Broker Statement form, which must be completed by the broker you will eventually work for.

3) A nonrefundable license fee of $170 payable via credit card, cashier’s check or money order.

4) A criminal history report or Georgia Crime Information Report (GCIC), which is no more than 60 days old. This document can be obtained from any local sheriff’s office or police department.

5) Signed and notarized Lawful Presence Affidavit.

Once your documents are reviewed and approved you will receive the following certifications:

One 8-½”x4” wall certificate, two pocket cards, and one 8-½”x11” wall certificate.

You must give your sponsoring broker one of the wall certificates and one of the pocket cards.
